Slip damping depends on the coefficient of friction, clamping pressure, shear stress and strain distribution and the contact surface geometry. Therefore, slip damping occurs at an interface surface (a surface integral), whereas material damping occurs throughout the volume of a part (a volume integral). In this paper, we considered the behavior of torsion bar with contact surface for damping mechanism and evaluated the damping of this case analytically and tried to measure the damping of coupling model. It became clear that maximum damping occurs at "optimum" pressure.
