No part of this file may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted, in any form or by any means, without the prior permission in writing of Unversity of the Ryukyus Library.) manuscript 英国海軍琉球伝導会 Loo-Choo Naval Mission (Ryukyu Naval Mission) この史料はベッテルハイムが記したTop Copy（カーボンコピーの一枚目）である。Second copyは，散免し現在，未だに発見されてない。手稿日記にも重複した記述はない。唯一，琉球大学附属図書館に保存されているのみであり史料的価値は高い。 This manuscript is again Bettelheim’s top copy, i.e. the top copy produced using a carbon paper system. The whereabouts of the second copy is not known. No duplicate version was entered in his journal. The University of the Ryukus is the only place where this information can be found. The historical value of this document is thus very considerable. 正像加工画像 : 正像加工画像とは、原本の手稿本文が当時のカーボン紙での記録であるため、表の文字は褪せて薄くなり、裏側の文字（逆像）が残っている特殊な状態であったため、読みやすくするため通常の文字の状態である正像に加工したものをいう。 Reverse-image processing version : The original manuscript was produced by means of a contemporary carbon paper system, but now 160 years later the image of the letters on the upper side of the paper has faded. Because of that change, the mirror-image on the reverse side of the paper is now the more legible.
