Okinawan emigrants to Hawaii not only contributed to increase the number of hogs in the early years of postwar sending Okinawa hogs as a present, but also improve Okinawa's agriculture and diet. Hogs from Hawaii gave a power to recovery of postwar Okinawan. Hogs from Hawaii sparked off for spreading and increasing postwar's Okinawa hogs. Hogs from Hawaii contributed to the breed improvement of Okinawan hogs. The farm land which ruined by war was improved by using excrement and urine because of increased number of hogs. In Okinawa, pork is very important food materials for daily diet and traditional events. And lard is used almost all cooking. By increasing the number of hogs, the production of pork and lard increased and improved postwar's Okinawan diet.
