This paper presents a new method of designing a load frequency self-tuning regulator for power system based on dual-rate sampling. The method is applied to a two-area power system provided with reheat type turbines and then the control effect of the proposed regulator is compared with that of standard sampling self-tuning regulator using digital simulations.
