On the Elastic-Plastic Torsion of a Bar of a Square Cross Section

To take a step of the research for the elastic-plastic problems authors take the torsion of a shaft of a square cross section which is easier in the application of the numerical analysis. To obtain the approximate solution within the elastic limit the fundamental partial differential equation of the torsion can be transformed into the finite-difference equation and to get better accuracy the relaxation method applied. By placing the square net over the cross section of the bar authors obtain the resultant shearing stress and the twisting moment within elastic limit and over it by the application of the relaxation method and descrives the elastic-plastic boundary when a plastic deformation takes place somewhere in its cross section.
