The number of different data may increase according to the increase of surveys. A good example is observed in the accumulation of food items accompanying the increase of meals. The theory on such data accumulations, however, is not fully discussed in the social or the ecological field. Looking through the past documents in the field of natural science, such concept could be found in the partition or extraction theory, and in the field of the reaction mechanism of enzymes. In the extraction theory, the data will be accumulating in a constant rate propotional to the whole data distributed as a result of extraction. On the other hand, in the enzyme reaction, the reaction product as the data will be accumulating through a medium of enzyme. To the way of data accumulation through medium we named the mediation theory. When the data accumulation was analysed by the extraction and the mediation theory in a observed data of food items consumed accompanying the increase of meals, the latter was found to be more correlated to the observed data. For the analysis of the data accumulation, the mediation theory might be more appropriate than the extraction theory.
