The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between SES (Socioeconomic Status) and
SC (Social Capital) and The Sense of Life Worth-living for college students.
The analysis was a binominal logistic regression analysis of 947 college students in Okinawa
prefecture.
As a result, the group with high SES had a significantly higher The Sense of Life Worth-living
than the group with low SES. Similarly, the group with high SC tended to have a significantly higher
The Sense of Life Worth-living than the group with low SC. On the other hand, when verified by the
combination of SES and SC, the relationship with The Sense of Life Worth-living is different, and those
with low SES and low SC have the lowest The Sense of Life Worth-living. However, the group with low
SES but high SC tended to have the second highest The Sense of Life Worth-living(Highest is high SES,
high SC group).
Therefore, it was suggested that SC should be increased in order to improve The Sense of Life Worth-living of college students, and it was shown that it may be effective especially for the group with low SES.
