This is the reason why the range of effective stress intensity factor is not sufficiently applied to the fatigue crack propagation behavior of actual equipment. In this study, the measurement of σ_ and σ_ in large size specimen is carried out by means of the strain interference method and the crack opening and closing points of long crack are successfully measured. Futhermore, σ_ and σ_ in a specimen subjected to a rotating bending stress is measured.
