Naruse and his colleagues have developed Dohsa-hou since the mid 1960's through Psychological Rehabilitation Camp. The number of handicapped children who take part in the Camp is increasing in Okinawa. They have various kinds of disorders such as cerebral palsy, autism, mental retardation, the tendency of hyper-activity and difficulty in verbal communication. Dohsa-hou not only improves their motor ability but also enhances the control ability of their behavior and mind. We have practiced Dohsa-hou in Okinawa Prefecture since 1976. The study mainly aimed to review the developing process of Psychological Rehabilitation in Okinawa.
