University of the Ryukyus}, month = {Dec}, note = {サトウキビのsettおよびsettling植付方式を圃場試験により比較検討し, 次の結果を得た。1,サトウキビのsettは出芽に約50日を要したが, 約19%のsettは出芽を見なかった。そのため株間に雑草の侵入を許した。2,発生した雑草量を比較すると, settling植付区はsett植付区に対し, 50日目除草時に生草重で33%, 乾物重で34%, また, 240日目の収穫時に生草重で43%, 乾物重で42%とそれぞれ著しい減少を示した。3,sett区ではサトウキビの収量形質である分げつ数, 原料茎数, および茎長はsettling植付区と比較してそれぞれ24%, 36%, 45%と大きく減少した。4,settling区においてサトウキビの茎乾物重, 全地上部乾物重および収量はsett植付区と比較してそれぞれ79%, 69%, 85%と著しい増加を示した。以上の結果より, settling植付方式は, サトウキビ畑における雑草を大きく抑制し, サトウキビの収量を増大する上で有効な植付方式であることが示唆された。, Field experiment was carried out for comparative study of sett planting and settling transplanting system of sugarcane. The results of the experiment were summarized as follows : 1. Sugarcane took long time (50 days) to emergence and about 19% of sugarcane did not germinate caused gapping in the rows which enhanced growth of vigorous weed population in sett planting field. 2. Settling transplanted cane reduced 33% (fresh weight) and 34% (dry weight), and 43% (fresh weight) and 42% (dry weight) of weed at the weeding and at the harvesting time, respectively, compared with sett planted cane. 3. Tiller, millable cane and stalk length were reduced by 24%, 36% and 45%, respectively in sett planted cane compared with settling transplanted cane. 4. Settling transplanted cane increased the total stalk dry weight, the total shoot dry weight and the yield of cane by 79%, 69% and 85%, respectively over sett planted cane.
