It also was done for a comparison of the vegetative and flowering characteristics among cultivars. The outline of obtained results are as follows. 1. In the non-heated glasshouse found in Okinawa, the flowering time is restricted to around October. The result is that the late spring and summer seasons are spent in maturation for vegetative growth. Otherwise, the sprouting of new shoots would be firmly depressed by low temperature in winter. 2. For the formation of flower bud, it will be considered that the maturity of pseudobulb is more dominant than either the photoperiodism or the thermofactors. 3.
