Stress-strain behaviors and the influence of particle crushing on strength-deformation characteristics were discussed. Sands were composed of coral fragments, shell, foraminifera, algae, etc., and had the carbonate content in exceed of 95%. Particle crushing during shearing process occurred in sand which resulted large void space under the same relative density. It was found that there was a tendency for both suppression of dilation and the decrease in the peak friction angle with the increase in particle crushing.
