The viviparous seeds were cultured by water culture method. To investigate the effect of salinity, twelve seeds were cultured in 4.0%, 2.7%, 1.3% salt concentrations and tapwater, respectively. Each treatment was divided into bubbling and non bubbling treatments. The seeds were maintained in the greenhouse for 6 months from August 1980 to Febrary 1981. Bud break was inhibited even in 1.3% salt concentration and root initiation was inhibited in 2.7% salt concentration. In all salt concentrations and tapwter, effect of bubbling did not seen appearently. To investigate the effect of nutrient, seventeen seeds were cultured in nutrient solution and tapwater, respectively. Each treatment replicated three times.
