Although CM-cellulose did not adsorp both enzymes, DEAE-cellulose adsorb both enzymes considerably, and more collagenase at pH 5.0. Dialysis against EDTA solution lowered both enzymes activities to the same extent and both dialysed enzyme activities were recovered by (Ca)^<++> and (Zn)^<++> completely, the collagenase being more sensitive to the metal ions than the acid-protease. These results indicate that both enzymes have strong similarity even though they are not the same protein.
