The results obtained were as follows : The enzyme production was investigated with 22 strains of Asp. awamori. All of them produced the enzyme in the culture broth of a medium containing alkali-treated bagasse. Among them, Asp. awamori IFO 4033 showed the highest production of the enzyme. In order to find the medium conditions required for the improvement of the enzyme production by this strain, the organism was grown in a medium containing the bagasse treated in various conditions. The best enzyme production was obtained when the organism was grown in a medium containing the bagasse treated with 0.5% NaOH solution at 120℃ for 20min.
