Behavior of 30-40 day- and one day-old chickens (Experimental toxoplasmosis in chickens) (Department of Animal Husbandry)","subitem_1551255648112":"en"}]},"item_1617186419668":{"attribute_name":"Creator","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"金城, 俊夫","creatorNameLang":"ja"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kinjo, Toshio","creatorNameLang":"en"}]}]},"item_1617186476635":{"attribute_name":"Access Rights","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_1522299639480":"open access","subitem_1600958577026":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2"}]},"item_1617186626617":{"attribute_name":"Description","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"30∿40日令の中雛および1日令の初生雛を用いてTpの接種試験を行ない, 次の如き成績を得た。中雛の成績1.脳内接種に対してはマウス同様の高い感受性を示し, 接種10例中8例が13日目までに斃死した。斃死例ではTpはほとんど脳に限局して証明された。2.腹腔および静脉内接種ではほとんど不顕性感染の経過をとる。体内Tpも比較的早期に消失するが, 50日目でもなお証明されている。3.経口感染も明らかに成立するが, 他のルートに比し困難である。またこの場合, 接種Tp数の量的な面より他の未知の諸要因に左右されることが大きい。4.血清反応の成績は, 接種ルートの如何によらず殺時の色素抗体は検索した34例中16倍陽性1例, 2倍陽性2例の計3例に証明されたに過ぎず, この日令の中雛は感染による, 色素抗体産生能が極めて低いと解せられる。初生雛の成績5.接種ルートの如何を問わず, 雛は何れもTp感染により斃死する。特に脳, 腹腔内接種に対しては, マウスの成績と変らない高い感受性を示して急性の感染死を来たした。皮下接種の場合は死期がやゝ延長される傾向がある。6.斃死雛のTp体内分布を調べると, 脳内接種ではほとんど脳に限局され, 他のルートでは肝, 脾, 肺に主として認められ, 斃死せしめる機転が異なることを示している。7.接種感染雛および非接種対照雛の同居飼育による相互感染の可能性は全く認められなかった。","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"The behavior of 30-40 day-old and one-day old chickens to toxoplasmic infection was observed. The results obtained are summarized as follows : The cases of 30-40 day-old chickens (intra-cerebral, -peritoneal, and peroral) 1. Susceptibility of chickens to intracerebral Tp inoculation was found to be high, dying 8 of 10 chickens within 13 days. In autopsy findings, the Tp was detected mainly in the brain. 2. The chickens, inoculated intraperitoneally and intravenously, kept almost symptoms free. The chickens showed a tendency to clear the parasites from their organs rapidly, but in a few cases, the Tp was proven to persist for 50 days. 3. Peroral inoculation of Tp was clearly established. However, the susceptibility of chickens to their route of Tp inoculation was a low than that of other routes described above. 4. A dye test antibody was detected only in 3 out of 34 chickens when tested at autopsy. The titer was also a low such as 1 : 16 or less. The cases of one-day old chickens (intra-cerebral, -peritoneal and subcutaneous) 1. Regardless of the route of Tp inoculation, all one-day old chickens were fatally infected and died. Especially the chickens inoculated intracerebrally or -peritoneally showed highly susceptible as like as mice. 2. Distribution of Tp in chickens' organs was examined microscopically at autopy. When the chickens were inoculated intracerebrally the Tp was demonstrated only in the brain, however, the cases of other routes of inoculation, the Tp was detected mainly in the liver, lungs and spleen. 3. A possibility of contact infection of Tp was completly negated by breeding of infected and uninfected chickens together in same cages. From the results obtained in these series of experiments, it is elucidated that the susceptibility of chickens to toxoplasmic infection was found to be largely influenced by their ages.
