(2) One strain of fungus which secreted red pigments and one pinkish bacterialike germ were separated from the infected sugarcane respectively. (3) Germs which secreted strongly active invertase seemed to occur in the red pigments which were artificially caused by the addition of sugar solution to the washed bagasses. (4) It seemed that the red pigments involved in the red rot disease were caused by not only fungus physalospo a tucummanensis but also such various other factors as shown in Fig. 3,4 and 5.
