In the former part of this experiment, various kinds of antigens were prepared from harvests of toxoplasma from mouse peritoneal exudate and were compared their antigenicities against rabbit serum immunized with RH strain in agar gel. Generally, 3 precipitate lines were observed, and one of these which formed at the side closer to antibody well, was intense and clear. The antigen participated in this line formation was not inactivated by heating 100℃ for 15 min. Other line yield at the side closer to the antigen well was faint and wide. The antigen of the line was heat labile. Of 10 kinds of antigens tested, freeze and thawed antigen was most active. The antigen fractionated by ammonium sulfate showed also high antigenicity. The antigen extracted by alkaline solution was less active, and no antigenicity was observed in trichloroacetic acid treated antigen. The freeze and thawed antigen was therefore applied for diagnosis in the following experiment. In the latter part of this experiment, the precipitation test with the antigen was performed using sera obtained from 110 apparently healthy pigs of field samples and also from 3 pigs of experimetal toxoplasmosis. The data obtained were also compared with those of other tests. The percentages of positive reaction were as follows : 9.1% in precipitation, 24.5 in dye, 13.6 in complement fixation inhibition and 20.0 in hemagglutination tests respectively. Positive reactors with precipitation test were the smallest in number but always showed high antibody titers when tested with other procedures described. There were good correlations, more than 84.6%, with other tests used. Precipitation test, however, seemed to be less sensitive to detect an early course of an acute infection, the antibodies generally appeared 2∿3 weeks later than the dye test antibodies. But after middle course of infection, the precipitation test antibodies persisted parallel with the clinical sings of the disease. From the data obtained, the precipitation test which is very simple and easy to perform can be able to use as the diagnostic tool for toxoplasmosis., 紀要論文}, pages = {199--210}, title = {トキソプラズマ症のゲル内沈降反応による診断(畜産学科)}, year = {1971} }
