Studies on the development of main agricultural information media and on the attitude of farmers for them were made in Ginoza-son (village). 2. One copy of questionnaire was given to each of all farm families of 640 in the village, and 65% (415 copies) was collected. Therefore the analysis is on the 65% families or farmers. 3. The studies were made from September 1 to Nevember 30,1965. 4. Among the farm families, 59.3% has own television set, and 73.5% wants to have agricultural education program on television. 5. Among the farm families, 86.5% has own radio set. 6. Among the farmers, 52% understands the agricultural information well on radio and the others find it difficult. 7. The number of those who have experiences of adoption of radio talks on their farm practices consists of 45% of the farmers. 8. About 64% of the farm families takes news paper. 9. About 45% of the farmers understands agricultural news stories well. 10. The number of those who prefer the seientific technical information on agriculture outnumbers a little that of those who prefer the successful story of general farmers. 11. The ratio of number of radio sets and news papers read there is 1.7 : 1. 12. The monthly extension bulletin NOKA NO TOMO issued by the Section of Agricultural Improvement, Government of the Ryukyus has been published for more than 6 years and given to farm families without charge. But, it's existence is known by 47% of the farmers yet. 13. For about 10 farm families, 1 copy of NOKA NO TOMO is given generally. According to the results of this investigation, only 3% of the farmers are used to read it every month. 14. Those who read and understand well the NOKA NO TOMO consists of 52% of the farmers. But the percentage is lower than that of those who read and understand similar information on news papers. 15. Among the farmers, 42% wants to increase the circulation of NOKA NO TOMO so that more people may be able to have a chance to read it. 16. The monthly extension bulletin NOKA DAYORI issued by the College of Agriculture, University of the Ryukyus has been published for more than 9 years and given to rural leaders and farmers without charge. But, it's existnce is known by only 28% of the farmers. 17. For about 20 farm families, 1 copy of NOKA DAYORI is given generally. But, the number of those who are used to read it every month is 2% of the farmers only. 18. Both the NOKA NO TOMO and the NOKA DAYORI are read mostly at home being seconded by the community hall. 19. The number of those who understand the information in NOKA DAYORI well consists of about 22% of the farmers. The others find it difficult. 20. Among the farmers, 22% has experiences of adoption of the information in NOKA DAYORI upon farm and home living practices. This is about 14% lower than that case of NOKA NO TOMO. 22. IE NO HIKARI is more popular among all kinds of commercial agricultural magazines consisting of 25% of the farmers. Poultry and Horticulture magazines are read by only 1%. 23. Radio is prefered first among above mentioned media for getting agricultural information consisting of 30% of the farmers. The news paper and television follow it.
