Generally, Sup ・ min composition formalizes the system pessimistically, while Inf ・ max composition formalizes it optimistically. Recently, Ohsato and Sekiguchi have pointed out the importance of a mixed fuzzy input-output system, and presented a way of solving the convexly combined form of Sup ・ min and Inf ・ max compositions for two unknown fuzzy relations. Their technique is straightforwardly applicable to the identification problem of systems with a fuzzy input and a fuzzy output. Such identification problem, however, should be carried out for multi-input and multi-output systems.
