D.}, issue = {6}, journal = {琉球大学教育学部教育実践研究指導センター紀要}, month = {Dec}, note = {The purpose of study 1 in this study was to develop the Japanese version of the BISC(Behavioral Inventory of Strategic Control), which was originally developed as an inventry for assessing children's coping behavior with stress in the social domain. The study 2 purpose was to inevetigate the relationship among personality traits, social support, stress and coping using the Japanese version and compare to find whether there was any differences in relationships of these variables between prefecture Okinawa and Chiba. The participants were 3rd and 5th grade school children in Okinawa and Chiba. The results offered considerable support for the construct validity and relaibility of the BISC. The ANOVA revealed that Okinawan children reported more avoidance coping strategies than those reported by Chiba children.
