When the tube spacings are smaller than the capillary constant, liquid forms sheets between tubes and continuously flows in them, and forms nearly uniform films falling down all tubes. With wider tube spacings, liquid drips off each tube and causes the large-amplitude waves which rapidly spread on the film covering the lower tube. The drip makes the films flow more unevenly on lower tubes. The drip-caused waves enhance, the associated gas absorption by 50% or more, compared with the sheet flow between tubes. Imposing periodical perturbations on feeding flow to the top tube enhances the gas absorption of films with the sheet flow between tubes by \u301c20% at the Reynolds number Re\u003c30. 内容記述 研究概要:機械および化学工業の各種ガス吸収器は、水平管方式と鉛直管方式の二つに大別される。本研究では、水平管方式の基礎研究として、水平管群を流下する液膜の表面波の生成とガス吸収促進の機構を、滑らかな表面の液膜流の理論解析との比較検討を通して解明し、さらに鉛直管の実験結果と比較した。理論では、管の頂部で濃度境界層が始まり、流下液膜表面に沿って管底まで発達するものと仮定し、境界層近似を導入して解析した。上下に隣接する管間が狭く、毛管定数以下の場合には、管間で連続したシート状流れとなり、最上段から最下段の管まで、ほぼ均一的な液膜流が形成される。一方、管間が十分広い場合には、管間では不連続な滴下流れとなり、滴下の衝撃により次段の管上の液膜に強い放射状の表面波が生成されるが、下流の段の管ほどより片寄った液膜流れが形成される。放射状表面波の効果により、シート状流れに比較して約50%かそれ以上の促進が得られる。シート状流れの場合、最上段の管への液供給に脈動を付与することにより、レイノルズ数Re<30で最大20%の促進が得られた。また、管径を毛管定数に近い6mmに小さくすることにより、レイリー不安定によってより大きい振幅の表面波が生成し、ガス吸収が促進される。水平管では、管間で濃度境界層を分断する作用が働くことと、滴下により生じる放射状表面波によりガス吸収が著しく促進される。一方、鉛直管流下液膜では、Roll waveが発生し、ガス吸収を促進する。両者を比較すると、水平管方式の方がガス吸収速度が大きいことが分かった。以上の知見は、コンパクトなガス吸収器の設計において役立つものと考えられる。
