As a result, the following points were made clear. 1. Housewives in Naha city took from 1 to 1.5 hours a day for washing clothes. 2. Housewives who had full-time jobs outside tended to do their laundry in the evening. 3. They washed clothes with synthetic detergent, but they neither used the standard amount of detergent nor mersured detergent by spoons or cups. 4. About 60 percent of the housewives used the automatic washing machine while they were doing their housekeeping jobs. They did not use the dryer so much. 5.
