 note = {A new type of artificial reef has been developed. The proposed reef has a hydrodynamic function allowing the return flow or undertow. Very small wave-set up, therefore, is exerted around the reef. The flow pattern of wave-induced currents behind the reef are almost same to one induced by a detached type breakwater, but the flow direction is opposite to the flow around the existing artificial reef. The proposed reef should be very effective for control of naturally sand beach against incoming high waves, and for land protection against storm surges., 紀要論文},
