It crystallized from alcohol, mp. 208~209℃; 〔α〕D^^^<20>-49.8°(C_2, MeOH), it gave positive Legal and Baljet reactions, and had a molecular formula of C_<30>H_<46>O_8. On acetylization in the presence of pyridine, was formed a diacetylneriifolin, mp.133~135℃;〔α〕D^^^<20>-80.9゚ (C_2, MeOH). Neriifolin in the presence of a slight excess of alcoholic KOH solution isomerized to isoneriifolin. This gave a negative Legal reaction, was only slightly soluble in alcohol, mp. 250~~52℃;〔α〕D^^^<20>-72.5°-(C_<1.932>, CHCl_3), and formed diacetyl isoneriifolin, mp. 220~223℃;〔α〕D^^^<20>-88.8°(C_<1.958>, CHCl_3), on acetylization in the presence of pyridine.
