The formation constant of the total hydrogen bond was obtained from the infrared absorption spectrum of the OH stretching mode, and the formation constant of the hydrogen bond on the carbonyl oxygen from the band of the C = O stretching vibration. The results were 8.10 1. /mol. for the former and 7.82 l. /mol. for tho latter, respectively when the concentration of phenol was approximately equal to or less than that of methylpropionate. Similarity of the two values suggests that only 1:1 complex is formed and the hydrogen bond occurs on the carbonyl oxygen under the experimental condition. However, when the concentration or phenol is larger than that of methypropionate, 1:2 complex (methylpropionate :phenol) seems to be formed and the additional hydrogen atom may be attached to the alcohol oxygen of the ester., 紀要論文}, pages = {102--110}, title = {フェノールとプロピオン酸メチルの間の水素結合について}, year = {1972} }
