The following results were derived.1) The observed wave heights on bay-shaped beach were nearly equal on both Eastern and Westrn coasts in this part of the Island,but in a bay the shore was more calm on northern coast than on southern part of the bay,because the reduction ratio of wave height by shorering was smaller in southern part. However,the wave heights observed on the coasts of Capes Maeda and Zanpa were especially large.\\n2) Sand deposit area was large on Western coast than Eastern coast in this part of the Island. 3) The beach protection work were constructed along most of the coastlines near housing area. But it is desired to add more works to prevent damage caused by Typhoon in this area.4) In several places along the coast,the reclamation works are going on.
