The model experiments about submerged breakwaters were carried out by the author to grasp the influence of their setting positions and heights to the effects of submerged breakwaters on wave action. The following results were obtained. 1. The most suitable setting positions of submerged breakwaters were in the places where the values of x/Lo were 0.2～0.3 or 0.7～0.8, when the submerged breakwaters heights were constant. 2.The damping ratios of wave heights Hi/Ho took their minimum values when the values of x/Lo were 0.3 or 0.6～0.7. 3.
