 note = {As a serial theme of the soil-base stabilization investigations on Okinawa Islands,the results and interpretations of a laboratory study of the Shimajri Formation Clay treated with the portland cement or quick lime,to improve the\n local materials,are presented. First,the geological conditions of the formation and the general properties of the other representative soils of Okinawa Island are reviewed.
