 note = {本稿は、ウムトゥ山とかかわる祭犯と説話で浮上するウムトゥ山の神には異なった二つの側面があることに注目する。八重山の宗教的な支配によって加えられたと思われるウムトゥ山の神と関わる三姉妹神話の要素は、「オヤケアカハチの乱」という政治的な出来事との関わりが見られ、首里王府の支配を正当化する為に利用されたことについて考察を行う。また、首里王府の支配以前のウムトウ山とかかわる土着の信仰について八重山の雨乞い儀礼を通して検討を行う。ウムトゥ山のこの二つの側面を論じることによって、首里王府による八重山併合以前と以後の八重山の民間信仰に関して示唆を得ることができると思われる。, In this paper, I explore the two different aspects of the god of Mount Umutu that emerge from rituals and myths. On the one hand, I investigate the manner in which the "three sisters myth", thought to be a result of Yaeyama's religious domination, is related to a political event, "Oyakeakahachi's revolt", and used to legitimize Shuri government's hegemony. On the other hand, I examine indigenous beliefs in Mount Umutu through analyzing Yaeyama's rainmaking rituals ("amagoi"). I believe important insights into Yaeyama's folk religion before and after Shuri domination can be gained by clarifying these two aspects of Mount Umutu's god., 紀要論文},
