DTA analysis of the decomposition indicated dewaters from the bagasse at temperature near 100 ℃ and thermal decomposition at 364 ℃. TG analysis showed the weight loss of 68.3 % around 350 ℃. DTG analysis suggested that the loss was due to decompositions of hemicellulose at 309 ℃ and cellulose at 356 ℃. Thermal decomposition of bagasse at 200 – 370 ℃ produced useful gasses such as H_2, CO, and CH_4 slightly. The amount of char formed by the decomposition was additively reduced by addition of activated clay to the bagasse.
