 note = {This paper examines the task competence which Japanese language learners gain\nin the task performance focused learning style. Fourteen students were administered a role play test provided by the Japan Foundation after they completed an intensive 4-month basic Japanese language course using the Can-do syllabus. The test results showed that 2 students were evaluated as B2 level, 9 students as B1, and 3 students as A2.
