In this study, the species is recorded from the Okinawa Island-group, Ryukyu Islands, Japan, representing the second distributional record of the species as well as first record from Japan. The male specimens of the present series differ from those in the type series in the relatively stout chelae with hoof-like tips of fingers. Similarly larger individuals tend to have proportionally longer ambulatory legs.
