 note = {The terrestrial sesarmid crab, Neosarmatium rotundifrons (A. Milne-Edwards, 1869), is reported from Japan for the first time based on specimens collected from Miyako-jima and Iriomote-jima Islands, Ryukyu Archipelago. This species is easily distinguished from an allied congener, N. asiaticum Ragionieri, Fratini & Schubart, 2012, and from Tiomanium indicum (H. Milne Edwards, 1837), by the shape of the cheliped. A brief diagnosis, live colouration, ecological notes of N. rotundifrons, and an identification key to the genera and species of Neosarmatium and Tiomanium recorded from Japan are also provided., 琉球列島の宮古島および西表島から採集された標本に基づき, 日本初記録のシロツメアシハラガニモドキ (新称) Neosarmatium rotundifrons (A. Milne-Edwards, 1869) を報告する. 本種は鉗脚の特徴によって, 形態や色彩が類似するN. asiaticum Ragionieri, Fratini & Schubart, 2012およびシロテアシハラガニモドキTiomanium indicum (H.
