Especially，it is very important that the river environment studies enable the people to learn nature and promotes the inter-generation exchange. In this study，the transition of river environmental management by residents and the relationship among activity contents are clarified. The factor analysis and potential assessment on the initiation ofthe river environment studies are performed in the first class rivers of Chugoku District.
