Although it is known that B. latro prefers limestone-associated environments in the Ryukyu Islands, the present study confirmed the inhabitance of B. latro at Izenajima Island, which is formed by Permian bedded chert formation (Izena Formation) and Middle Triassic to Early Jurassic turbidite alternation (Shomi Formation). This indicates that further surveys may confirm the distribution of Birgus latro even from non-limestone islands., 論文}, pages = {9--10}, title = {伊是名島からのヤシガニの記録}, volume = {34}, year = {2017} }
