The specimens examined in this study were collected from Amami-ohshima Island, the Okinawa Islands and the Yaeyama Islands. The species was found to burrow in soft sediments in intertidal to shallow subtidal zones, particularly in estuaries and mangrove areas. A detailed description of the species is provided to show evidence of the identification, as well as diagnostic details not mentioned in previous literature.
