The central places of Micronesia increased from seven districts when Japan began to govern, to 54 districts in the end of the governance. In addition, in the beginning of governance, low-level central places were only arranged in parallel. However, the regional difference expanded and in the end of the governance, it was differentiate into 6 stages, from high-level to low-level.
