The writers were the Somayama Hisshas (writers for government forests) Oohama, Niya and Miyara, Niya, but the addressee is unknown. Shinobosemai refers to the tribute rice that has to be paid to Satsuma and the Shuri Government; while the tokorodsukaimai refers to the rice bought with the funds from the Miyako and Yaeyama Kuramoto.
