It is regarded as Bible of Daoism sinceit preaches that if one does good, God will extend his/her life, but if one's deed is not sound, he/she will die young. However,the good deeds listed in the book are mostly concerned with Confucianism. The book is, in fact, merely preaching socialethics of China. It is characterized by its contents linking good deeds to long life. Both the editor and the completion dateare said to be unknown, but it is believed that a Confucianist who were knowledgeable about all the three of Confucianism,Buddhism, and Daoism was the editor. It spread in and after the 15th century.It is said to have been brought to Ryukyu at the beginning of the 19th century. It was then copied by Kishaba Seigen, whowas inspired by its teachings. This Kishaba print was also copied many times and was circulated among the shizoku class.This Taijō Kannō Hen Taii in the Miyara Dunchi Collection is the one carved on plates by Dana Sōkei in Ryukyu. It gavepowerful influence to people of Okinawa. No copy of the book has yet been found in Amami.(Updated on March 10, 2015), 沖縄関係コレクション}, title = {太上感応篇大意} }
