APM technique has potential to reduce the hardware cost of the receivers, for example, size of antenna, the number of required cables, cabling cost, calibration cost, maintenance cost, etc. In this paper, we try to explain the principle of APM with time-variable directional gain designed based on Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) and Code Division Multiplexing (CDM).
