Along with this situation, the development of a framework that contributes to its development, education, and evaluation has become an urgent issue. We are aiming to build and establish a “Business Japanese Framework” (BJFW). To build up BJFW, we have rewritten and added can-do statements of existing scales such as CEFR 2001 as business tasks and have already registered about 800 items in our Can-do statements bank. In 2018, the CEFR companion volume with new descriptors was made public, adding a new definition and cando statements for the “Online interaction” skills. This indicates the importance of “Online interaction” in a multilingual and multicultural society. Currently, the world is facing a pandemic situation due to the spread of the new Coronavirus, and opportunities for high-skilled foreign personnel to engage in online operations such as telework are increasing. However, can-do statements for online activities using the Japanese language have not been established yet.
