 note = {巻4　明治3（1766）年　重刻　26cm, 徐葆光（じょほこう）は江南の蘇州府長州県の人で、1719年（康熙58）に尚敬王の冊封副使として来琉。これは冊封の顛末をまとめたものである。冊封儀礼の様子や、琉球に滞在中に見聞した琉球の風俗、言語、地理、歴史などを清朝考証学的な体裁で記し、多くの挿絵を挿入している。江戸時代の知識人の琉球に関する知識はこの著に依るところが多い。またアントワーヌ・ゴービル宣教師によってフランス語に抄訳され、ヨーロッパでも紹介されている。『那覇市史』資料編第１巻３に読み下し篇が収録されている。第4巻は、琉球の各地域の地理的特徴や地名、産物について述べられている。, Xu Bao Guang, originally from Suzhou city in Changzhou prefecture, South China, came to the Ryukyu Kingdom in the year 1719 on an investiture mission for the appointment of King Sh? Kei. This was in order to collect information about Ryukyu tributary affairs. It records all their experiences of Ryukyuan customs, language, geography, history etc, as well as the way in which ceremonies were carried out, as a study of ancient texts; illustrations also included. There are many instances where Edo period scholars have depended on this writing for their information relating to Ryukyu.
