Similar to other sources in the Miyara-Dounchi library, these letters demonstrate Matsumo's social relationships with the elites of mainland Okinawa. The contents can be roughly broken down to greeting letters, letters of thanks and replies etc. Amongst the greeting letters there was one addressed to an official that returned from China.
