Due to the insufficiency of SOMAYAMA HOUSHIKI CHOU published previously, the Shuri Government released a new book named SHOKUMU CHOU IN 1740; which was later edited by Lord Yoseyama (1768) and Lord Onaga (1857). This document is the one edited by Lord Yoseyama. The opening paragraphs outline how the increase in wood consumption due to population growth prompted the management of Government Forests (SOMAYAMA).
