Miyara Dounchi is a building that is basically modelled on the houses of Ryukuan elites, and was constructed in 1819. During the years the tiled roofs were once reverted back to hay roofing, but after the abolition of feudal domains and establishment of prefectures it was once again changed back to tiles. Miyara Dounchi was declared as an important cultural asset in 1956.
