Purchased by Peechin Miyara (Matsumo) when visiting mainland Okinawa in 1879. Nishinohira(the western hira) refers to one of the three Shurisanhira of the Ryukyu Kingdom and consists of the villages Gibo, Akahira, Teshiraji and Kubagawa.  This was an area filled with government buildings such as the Kinoeookimiudoun and Hirajo as well as an upper class residential area for Princes, Ajis and Oyakatas. This collection of drafts appear to have belonged to the residents of this area, with most of the contents relating to writing excercises at school.
