In this paper, deriving from the concept of capital andcapitalism in line with J. Hicks and F. Braudel, capitalism is defined as the manner of activity ratherthan as the socio-economic system. This reconstitution of the concept of capitalism enables thispaper to get rid of a W. Sombart-like recognition framework（i. e. the notion of the transition fromfeudalism to capitalism）which has been prevailing in many socio-economic studies of the historicaldevelopment and the third world’s underdevelopment.With reference to K. Marx’s notion of ‘primitive accumulation’, I pick up issues which are requiredin the early phase of development process, not just as historical but also as structural process. Thoseare legalization of capital accumulation, weakening traditional rights in production, increasingdemand for manufacturing goods, sifting money fund and labour force from non- manufacturingsector to manufacturing sector, and arising share of capital-wage labour relations in nationalemployment shares. To clarify concrete aspects of standardized structural process, I connect thoseissues with several stylized facts, such as S. Kuznets’s inverted U-shape pattern of manufacturingshare and the U-shape pattern of specialization of manufacturing sectors. Moreover, I intertwinethose issues with inspections of the Lewis’s effect of transformation, the Kaldor’s law and theinternational convergence of productivity of manufacturing sectors.
