However, the foregoing scores do not guaranteethat they develop one of the most important intercultural communication competences, i.e.,sense of humor. The paper proposes the first step of understanding English humor should be the examination of words in dictionaries, rather than contextualized humorous episodes, which might engender more difficulties of understanding.
