O’Dowd, 2004). Incorporating interactivevideoconference is an effective means for sharing information, thoughts, andcommunicating with people around the globe.The purpose of this study was to implement videoconference in Englishrelated classes to provide students an authentic environment, cultivate language andcommunication skills, improve presentation techniques, deepen cultural knowledge,and build problem-solving skills. Students gathered information on topics related to thecontent covered in class (e.g. cultural, global issues) and created manuscripts and slidesfor the synchronous exchange sessions.Results of the questionnaire and reflection indicate that majority of the studentswere favorable of the content, task, and outcome of the videoconference collaboration.The findings also show that the participants considered the interactive experienceextremely rewarding and motivating for developing language, communication skills,presentation techniques, and cultural awareness, which are inevitable components forbecoming a successful language learner.Consequently, incorporation of an innovative approach in English educationprograms may have potentials to provide genuine experience, facilitate distinctivelearning opportunities, and enhance 21st century skills, which may generate promisingindividuals for this global era., 紀要論文}, pages = {15--36}, title = {シンクロ型遠隔交流を活用した英語教育・国際理解教育}, year = {2020} }
